   THE SEASON CORRECTION FIRST: the Paris debut SCAB was shown October 2002 FOR the SS2003 season — Takahashi's own words. A listing dating SCAB 'AW2002' or 'FW02' is repeating the standard misdating; the correct designation is SS2003.

   Four tag eras (community-documented — the Reddit/Haori guides are the working scholarship, no official system exists): Old Old White tag (pre-1994–~SS1999; style codes UC-[year][season], e.g. UC-4W = AW1994); Old White tag (~AW1999–AW2004; ONE LETTER per season: Q=AW1999, K=SS2000, D=AW2000, Z=SS2001, S=AW2001, J=SS2002, M=AW2002, U=SS2003, V=AW2003, B=SS/AW2004); New White tag (~SS2005–AW2016; year-digit codes 5S/5A/6S…, then from SS2008 single letters walking A=SS2008 → R=AW2016); Black tag (SS2017 onward; UC-prefixes: UCS=SS2017, UCT=AW2017, UCU=SS2018…).

   Product-code anatomy (post-2008 example UCK4408-3 = SS2013 · men's mainline · shirting · item 08 · colorway 3): first letter = season, then first digit 4 = men's mainline (9 = non-seasonal, 6 = footwear), second digit = garment type (1 suiting, 2 outerwear, 4 shirting, 5 trousers, 8 tees/sweats, 9 knit).

   THE UNDERCOVERISM TRUTH: UNDERCOVERISM was the original MENSWEAR label — UNDERCOVER was the women's line — until both unified under UNDERCOVER in 2015 (UNDERCOVERISM revived as a sub-label FW21 'Neoboy'). Calling it a 'diffusion line' is the common error: an UNDERCOVERISM tag means pre-2015 menswear. It trades under the women's runway grails — a knowledge arbitrage.

   Collection-name literacy is a dating tool: the names are the calendar (EXCHANGE/RELIEF/AMBIVALENCE 1998–99, TEASTER SS2000, D.A.V.F. AW2001, WITCH'S CELL DIVISION AW2002, SCAB SS2003, the BUT BEAUTIFUL spine AW2004/SS2005/AW2017). The AW2017 menswear title is BRAINWASHED GENERATION — 'Brainwash' is the misquote.

   Collabs authenticate against the partner: Gyakusou by Nike's standards (2010–, the accessible lane), Supreme crossings (SS2018 Public Enemy, SS2023, SS2026) by Supreme's tag eras. Grail market (community listings): SCAB patchwork $2,000–$6,000+, Witch's Cell Division $500–$3,000+.

Two sources or it ships as rumor. Where a tell is collector-lore rather than a museum fact, the tell says so — weight it with construction and provenance, never alone.
