How to date Bottega Veneta (the Daniel Lee era)
Does the intrecciato weave date a Bottega — and is my Pouch from the Lee era?
The weave runs across Maier, Lee, and Blazy — it dates nothing by itself. The scale does: maxi weave is Lee's introduction, and the silhouettes are the calendar. Pressed-never-stitched construction, the Riri zipper check, and the Blazy-continuation trap, read honestly.

THE TRAP FIRST: the intrecciato weave is the house DNA across ALL eras — Maier (2001–2018), Lee (2018–2021), Blazy (2021–) — so the weave itself dates NOTHING. Era lives in the weave SCALE, the construction, and above all the silhouette.

Lee-era reads: the MAXI/oversized intrecciato (strips far wider than Maier's classic weave) was Lee's introduction; double-sided leather (exterior mirrors interior) on most Lee styles; saturated color as a tell — 'BV green' and cobalt read Lee-era at a glance.

Silhouette IS the dating key: the Pouch (2019), the Cassette (padded, triangle-buckle), the Jodie (the knotted hobo, early 2020), the Arco (Pre-Fall 2019), the Lido sandal, the Tire boot, the Puddle boot — each object names its own window. The interior debossed 'BOTTEGA VENETA' branding did NOT meaningfully change across the boundary.

Construction authentication (dealer-guide consensus): authentic intrecciato strips are PRESSED into place, never stitched into position — visible stitching holding the weave is the counterfeit tell. The guides document Riri-brand zippers (check the underside of the zipper head; a butterfly motif sometimes appears); serial number on a narrow paper-like tag with a raw, unfinished edge.

What not to pay for: Blazy-era pieces (2021–) sold as Daniel Lee — the Cassette continues under Blazy with modifications; 'New Bottega' premiums on classic-weave Maier pieces. Undervalued lane (community read): immaculate Maier-era classic intrecciato, trading well under the Lee-era boom.
